About Me
Hello! I’m Pilgrim. Designer, illustrator, all ‘round visual communicator.
Whether it’s brand ideation and development, illustration, custom packaging or a digital experience, my creative practice is multi disciplinary with equal parts experimentation and strategic thinking. I see myself as creative partner to my clients aligning vision, business objectives and authentic story-telling into meaningful brand experiences. I work best with entrepreneurial minds, conscious consumers, and socially responsible individuals. Vintage fonts, not vintage values!
I was born in Adelaide, South Australia. the only child of two creative patents, I grew up spending a lot of time in my mum’s graphic design studio and my dad’s photography dark room. I was surrounded by art and design books and from a really early age had definite ideas about style.
The early exposure to the graphic style of my parent’s youth has stayed with me and some of my strongest influences are things I encountered when I was still small: Heinz Edelmann’s Yellow Submarine, the designers behind Push Pin graphics, Marimekko, Alexander Girard and the bold surface design of the era.
But a lifelong love of vintage aesthetics doesn’t mean I’m not aware of current trends and edgy technological developments. I’ve dipped into AR recently and developed a collection of Instagram and Facebook filters you can find via my Instagram profile.
After spending a few years in England, I am now settled with my husband and son in the fabulous city of Melbourne, Australia.
I’m excited to share my work with you and if you think I’d be the right fit for a job you have in mind, please don’t hesitate to email me.
